Tomorrow, September 13th is Roald Dahl Day! Below are some ideas to help you celebrate with your students! You can click any image to go directly to the link!
- Learn about Roald Dahl’s Life. Twinkl has some great PowerPoint that detail his early life and career!

- Try a Roald Dahl-themed experiment. There are lots of different examples on YouTube; these experiments from Roald Dahl HQ are great.

- Learn how to draw Matilda in Illustrator Quentin Blake’s style of drawing.

- Learn how to draw Willy Wonka from Quentin Blake himself in this fabulous video!

- You can find Roald Dahl colouring sheets here. Read an excerpt to your students while they relax and colour!

- Try a Roald Dahl Quiz. Click here to visit this website that has lots of Roald Dahl-themed quizzes. I particularly like this one where your students have to guess which Roald Dahl book it is from the clues.
- Dress up as your favourite Roald Dahl character. The Roald Dahl Marvellous Children’s Charity has a complete guide on how to make Roaldl Dahl-themed outfits here.

8. If you teach the older classes, definitely read one of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes aloud. Just check that the poem is suitable for your own class before reading. You can ding a video of Tom Fletcher reading a Revolting Rhyme here is you don’t have the book!

And if you’re still looking for more ideas, I created this set of activities for you to use with your students tomorrow! It included a Roald Dahl project sheet, Roald Dahl word search and set of Roald Dahl day bookmarks! You can download it for free by following the link below! Happy teaching! Claire x
